Historic Preservation
The LDI team has extensive experience working on historic preservation projects ranging from historic structure surveys to design guidelines for development/redevelopment within National Register Historic Districts. Ms. Tracy L. Crowe, LDI's principal, studied historic preservation as a specialty while obtaining her Masters Degree. Ms Crowe worked on drafting and documenting current conditions of buildings for the National Archives along the world famous St. George Street in St. Augustine, Florida. Ms. Crowe and Ms. Patricia A. Tyjeski, Senior Planner, both have architecture degrees.
LDI has completed projects funded by the State Division of Historical Resources and have received compliments from state staff on our historic property surveys and design guidelines. In addition to preparing design standards for historic districts containing architecture typical of the pre-World War I period, LDI has also worked on design standards for districts containing structures built in the “recent past” (1940s and later), which include modern styles such as Ranch, Minimal Traditional and other styles particular to the first “suburbs” established in Florida.
