Volusia County/City of DeLand
Spring Hill Community Redevelopment Plan
LDI created the Community Redevelopment Plan. The Spring Hill CRA is a partnership between the Volusia County Government and the City of DeLand, which combined publicly identified assets, issues and challenges; and included a Land Use Master Plan for the CRA area emphasizing the preservation and development of the community’s residential core. The Community Redevelopment Plan was completed on time within a six (6) week timeframe in order to accommodate City and County planning schedules. LDI won a Roy F. Kenzie Award from the Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA) for our work on this project.
Lake Beresford Park Master Plan/Construction Documents
LDI prepared a conceptual Master Plan for a 200-plus-acre passive park facility located on the shores of Lake Beresford in Volusia County. LDI provided landscape design services for the trail. Elevated boardwalks were proposed to minimize wetland impacts. Fishing and canoe launching piers were extended into Lake Beresford at two locations and the construction of primitive camp grounds were scattered through the site. LDI also created plans to re-vegetate bare areas with native plant material, designed templates for the signage system and coordinated the various site furnishings.
Tomoka Farms Corridor Master Plan
LDI prepared a Future Land Use Vision Plan for the Tomoka Farms Road corridor (CR 415) based on analyses of current, past and future land development, transportation and socio-economic trends. The project included extensive public participation, and preparation of a series of maps in GIS depicting existing conditions and the proposed vision.
Land Development Code Updates
LDI prepared revisions to the County’s Zoning Code, including the adoption of design standards for commercial development along the County’s major thoroughfares.
